I have known this young lady ever since she was born and I've watched her grow up into the pretty young lady she is today and I can't believe she is already graduating, I can only imagine how her parents feel because I know how I felt with my daughter graduating last summer....time flies!
Chantel is my 2012 senior representative for Mountain Home High School. We actually did a few of her pictures in Florida on the beach while vactioning with her family and then the rest here late in the fall.

Monday Morning Quarterback

Well I just have to rant about my team....seems they have lost their luster and have lost 2 games in a row, at home. I just want to know where the fans were yesterday, they had a chance to be so loud to to help disrupt the Falcons offense but it seems they were a non-factor!
The Falcons offense actually practiced all last week with jet engine noise being pumped in to simulate the loud crowd at Ford Field which definitely impacted plays for Chicago and San Francisco the previous two weeks.
Ohh well, it could have been worse, they could have played the New Orleans Saints yesterday! Wow 62 points!

So anyway, now the Lions at 5-2 are two games behind the Packers and only one game ahead of the Bears in the NFC North with important division games against both teams coming up on November 13 against the Bears in Chicago and November 24 against the Packers in Detroit, but hopefully they can get back to winning and bounce back this weekend against a struggling Denver team who beat Miami in OT yesterday.

World Series!!

Well for those of you who follow Major League Baseball you know the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals made it to the World Series. My team, the New York Yankees did not for the second year in a row. They were eliminated in the ALDS by the Detroit Tigers. The Yankees did however win the American League Eastern Division title.
This past summer we went to Rangers Ball Park in Arlington, TX to a Texas Rangers-New York Yankees game and I thought I'd post some pictures as it's the only I have to "extend the season" for myself since the Yankees couldn't do it for me!

Anyway on to the pictures.............We got there before the game to catch batting practice.......first up is #13 Alex Rodriguez catching a few balls during warm ups.

WOW! It's been a long time since I updated my blog!!

So much for keeping up with it like I wanted, and I have so many shoots I need to blog so let me try to get caught up.

First I will start with Demi, she is my MHHS Senior Rep for the 2010-2011 school year. Demi is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet, an absolute joy to shoot and to get to know.

Her mother and sister joined us on her shoot and it was hot that day, but Demi was a real trooper putting up with the heat.

She loves playing the guitar and perhaps we will see her on American Idol someday!

Demi was also Junior maid, Senior Maid and Homecoming Queen!

Demi was a cheerleader for 4 years and was captain of the squad her senior year.

Demi's ring for being state champs in Cross Country her junior year which was also 3rd year in a row as State Champs for MHHS Cross Country!

I try to capture who a person is in their photos, and in response to seeing this photo, one of her friends stated "This is amazing! This is so you Demi"

Demi truly is "almost famous" as her cell phone cover states. As a result of her popular video circulating the internet for her backflip off her bed, she has appeared on and been interviewed on Ellen, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, America's Funniest Videos, Worlds Dumbest Performers, Most Daring and Smoking Gun and was even contacted by MTV!

Detroit at Dallas

So I am way excited for this weekend to go to Dallas to watch my favorite footbal team, the Detroit Lions play the Dallas Cowboys!

Yes I know, I know...the Detroit Lions you say?

Well I have liked them since I was a kid way back in the 80's and have followed them through thick & thin (mostly thin) and even though they only have 2 wins so far this year, they have a much improved team over the last few years so hopefully the wins will come more often.

So I just have to tell you about a really good movie I saw tonight with my wife and some of our good friends!

It's about a runaway train and the efforts to stop it, I guess it was based on a true story.

It stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine from my personal favorite, Star Trek, and it was a pretty exciting movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat so I recommend going to see it if you can!

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while, it just seems like I have been so busy with everything from work, family, life, MLB playoffs and whatever else has kept me away from the blog!

Anyway, I am going to try to be a little more regular in blogging at least once a week.

I've done so many shoots since I last blogged so I've decided to go back several shoots and try to get you caught up on what I've been doing over the last few months so tonight I'm posting one of my favorite pics of Courtney from a shoot I did with her back in the summer.

It was shot in an old house at the Arkansas-Missouri state line in one of the rooms, she was sitting in front of a window so it's all natural light and I love how it lit her face and eyes!

No doubt years ago this trailer provided some fun times for it's previous owners, but now it just sits alone, decaying in the desert.

SO I MET UP WITH CASEY AND HER MOM TO DO SOME LAST MINUTE SENIOR PHOTOS. A THREAT OF RAIN LINGERED ALL MORNING BUT WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE SHOOT OFF WITHOUT IT RAINING!

PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WAS WET THOUGH FROM THE RAIN THE NIGHT BEFORE, BUT CASEY DIDN'T SEEM TO MIND TOO MUCH SITTING/LAYING IN THE WET GRASS, CLIMBING UP HILLS , GETTING HER FEET DIRTY AND WALKING ALL OVER TO DIFFERENT SPOTS! SHE WAS A REAL TROOPER!

Malibu

SO YESTERDAY WE TOOK A DRIVE ON THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY TO MALIBU, THE VIEWS WERE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND NOW I SEE WHY MOST FAMOUS PEOPLE DECIDE TO MAKE MALIBU THEIR HOME!

HAD TO DO THE TOURIST THING AND HAVE MY PICTURE TAKEN IN FRONT OF THE CITY SIGN.

WE STOPPED TO WALK ON THE BEACH SO WE COULD SAY THAT WE WALKED ON THE BEACH IN MALIBU.

WE CAME ACROSS A REALLY NICE, REAL LIFE LOS ANGELES COUNTY LIFEGAURD AND SHE POSED FOR A PICTURE WITH HANNAH.

WE STOPPED AT A NICE RESTARAUNT TO EAT LUNCH IN MALIBU AND HANNAH THOUGHT SHE WAS FAMOUS SO SHE LEFT HER SUNGLASSES ON TO AVOID BEING SPOTTED BY THE PAPPARAZZI!

NEXT WAS A TREAT FOR ME, WE WENT TO CARSON, CA TO LOS ANGELES COUNTY FIRE STATION 127 WHICH WAS THE LOCATION THAT THE 1970'S TV SHOW EMERGENCY! WAS FILMED AT!

I WATCHED THAT SHOW AS A KID AND STILL ENJOY WATCHING RERUNS ON DVD.

FEW PEOPLE REALIZE THE IMPACT THE SHOW, WHICH PORTRAYED PARAMEDICS IN LA COUNTYS PARAMEDIC PROGRAM, HAD ON PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY INFLUENCING THEM TO WANT TO BECOME, PARAMEDICS, FIREFIGHTERS, DOCTORS AND NURSES.

THE FIREFIGHTERS WHO GAVE US THE TOUR SAID THEY GET THAT A LOT OF FROM VISITORS.

MOST ALL OF THE FIRE STATION SCENES WERE FILMED AT THIS STATION, WITH ONE OF THE FIREFIGHTERS ON THE SHOW, MIKE STOKER, BEING AN ACTUAL LA COUNTY FIREMAN AND PORTRAYING HIMSELF.

FOR THE SHOW IT WAS RENUMBERED STATION 51, BUT IT WAS REALLY 127. THE STATION TODAY LOOKS JUST LIKE IT DID ON THE SHOW WITH A FEW MINOR CHANGES AND UPDATES. WHEN WE GOT THERE THE ENGINE WAS OUT ON A RUN, (CAME BACK BEFORE WE LEFT) BUT THE QUINT WAS THERE PLUS 3 FIREFIGHTERS WHO WERE SUPER NICE AND GAVE A US A TOUR OF THE STATION.

THIS IS THE QUINT PARKED IN THE APPARATUS BAY WHERE THE ENGINE PARKED ON THE SHOW.

THIS IS THE KITCHEN, NEW UPDATED APLIANCES AND NEW CABINETS AND ALSO A NEW KITCHEN TABLE WERE SOME OF THE UPDATES TO THE STATION.

THIS IS THE BACK OF THE STATION, NOT SHOWN MUCH ON THE SHOW BUT THOSE WHO REMEMBER IT, THEY WILL RECOGNIZE THE BASKETBALL HOOP STILL THERE.

THE LOCKERS JUST AS THEY WERE IN THE SHOW, ONLY REFINISHED SINCE THEN.

WE NEXT WENT ON TO BEVERLY HILLS AND WENT TO RODEO DRIVE, WE COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY ANYTHING THERE, BUT IT WAS INTERESTING WALKING AND WINDOW SHOPPING!!

THEY WERE FILMING AN INTO FOR THE SHOW REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS SO WE WATCHED THEM FILM A WHILE.

THE GRAND CANYON-NOT JUST ANOTHER HOLE IN THE GROUND!

WOKE UP TO A SNOWSTORM/BLIZZARD AFTER SPENDING THE NIGHT IN OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA!!!

THERE WAS CLOSE TO ZERO VISIBILITY AT TIMES FROM BLOWING SNOW!
TRAFFIC MOVING VERY SLOWLY! PUT US ABOUT 5 HOURS BEHIND OUR SCHEDULE!

ONE OF MANY TRACTOR TRAILER JACK KNIFES WE SAW. ALSO, LITERALLY SAW A WINNEBAGO CAMPER GET BLOWN ACROSS THE HIGHWAY INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN AFTER CATCHING CROSS WINDS OF 40 MPH AND MORE!!

FINALLY OUT OF THE BAD SNOW, ROADS WERE CLEAR BUT STILL WINDY AND COLD ACROSS NEW MEXICO AND EVEN INTO FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA WHERE WE SPENT THE NIGHT LAST NIGHT.

OUR BED IN OUR ROOM AT THE MARRIOTT IN FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA.

WE WERE SO READY FOR THAT BED TOO AFTER SPENDING MORE TIME ON THE ROAD THAN PLANNED BECAUSE OF THE WINTER STORM.

WIFE GOT US A GREAT DEAL ON AN INCREDIBLE ROOM.

NEXT STOP....THE GRAND CANYON AND THEN ONTO LOS ANGELES WHERE I GET TO VISIT THE FIRE STATION THAT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD SHOWS EMERGENCY! (and yes I still watch it) WAS FILMED AT IN CARSON, CA.

HEATHER MESSAGED ME THAT SHE WAS GOING TO BE IN TOWN ON SPRING BREAK FROM COLLEGE AND WANTED TO DO A SHOOT.
TURNS OUT THE ONLY DAY WE COULD SCHEDULE IT WAS WINDY, COLD AND SPITTING RAIN!
BUT HEATHER WAS A TROOPER AND WE TRIED IT AND CAME A WAY WITH SOME GOOD SHOTS DESPITE THE FACT SHE WAS FREEZING TO DEATH!

I JUST LOVE THIS ONE OF HER ON THE STEPS, SHE IS A NATURAL POSER AND HAS GREAT FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, AND IT WAS VERY EASY TO GET A GREAT PHOTO WITH HER!!!

Here is a really nice family I met this past weekend for some family pictures. Mom originally wanted to shoot outside, but threat of rain along with cold temperatures and wind would make for a not so fun shoot so we opted to move inside for a more traditional portrait type shoot. So I had the pleasure of meeting up with the Hudsons to do some family pics for their Christmas cards this year to send to family & friends.
I didn't want to post the card yet until they had them mailed out.

Arkansas Vs. LSU

I am so glad we did this shoot before the Arkansas-LSU game this past Saturday, otherwise I probably would have had more frowns than smiles with this family!
The family all wore their Arkansas shirts in support of the game but unfortunately it wasn't enough to win in OT against LSU!

If you follow my blog any you will more than likely recognize the mom and her two daughters as I did a family shoot with them back in the summer but the dad got called to work and couldn't make the shoot so mom decided to just schedule another one so he could make it!!

Meet The Turners!

Ohhh my I have been SO busy with shoots lately, maternity and families have kept me busy and I have so much editing to do!!!
So.....without further adieu, let me introduce my latest family, the Turners!!!
I have known this family for years, growing up as cousins and best friends with the dad!
I just love this shot of them with the fall foliage in the background, aren't they a great looking family!

I watched these two girls grow up from little babies into adorable young women!

Ohhh and can't forget about Rocky, the pet dog, he even posed for a few pictures.!

Amelia-At One Year She Is So Adorable!

Ok so when Amelia's mom came to me to take Amelia's one year pictures, I must say I was really nervous because I just don't feel I'm quite good enough with kids yet to capture just how cute Amelia is, but I jumped in feet first and did my best!!

I really love this shot of her looking through handrails on a caboose down at Cotter springs.

Amelia is so fast I had to shoot quick to get any shots so I took this one really quick while she was looking and was distracted by mom! haha

I thought this one was cute with Amelia in her cute little Gap outfit!

Nicole-Maternity Part I

This is Nicole, a really sweet young woman who is pregnant with her first child and asked me to capture this moment in her life and I was delighted to do so!

We split her shoot up into two sessions, one outside and another inside later next month.

I really love the look of the rock wall so you'll probably see it a lot in some of my posts! haha

We were shooting in late afternoon full sun on some of the shots but I think they turned out pretty good! Nicole said she loves black & white so I'm hoping she loves these!!

What would a maternity session be without baby blocks, and who says with a black and white photo you can't have a little splash of color?

Savannah, Caleb & Roxy

Meet Savannah and Caleb, their mom Rhonda wanted to do some pictures of her kids so Saturday afternoon we met down at Cotter Springs for a brother sister sibling shoot!
It turned out to be a gorgeous day with the sun shining.

We told Caleb to wrestle with his sister and roll around in the leaves, once he started we couldn't get him to stop, but I learned something....you can bribe a a 3 year old with a piece of gum!! haha

Savannah didn't want to really do any pictures by herself, but the ones we did turned out really well.
She's really photogenic don't you think?

This was a must have for mom, some shots on the railroad tracks!

I love this one and sometimes the best pictures are the ones you don't plan to take!!

A pose that mom wanted that she thought was cute!

Ok by now you're wondering who and where Roxy, who I mentioned in the post title is! Well Roxy is the family pet, Savannah's dog who was a stray that the family took in and wanted to do some pictures with.

We didn't have to bribe the dog with gum!

Baby On The Way..........

Some of you may have seen Kayla & Jonathan's wedding pictures on my website, well now about a year and a half later their new addition to the family is about ready to come out!!!!
So we got together on a chilly weekend morning to take some maternity pictures. I saw this wall some time ago and I just knew I had to try it out on my next maternity session.

I LOVE this one, isn't Kayla gorgeous?

We even convinced the normally camera shy Jonathan to get in on some pictures. If you think they are a cute couple now, just wait until baby Grady is here!!

One doesn't realize how hard it is to make baby blocks stay on a pregnant tummy, especially with a laughing mommy!!

So what do you do when you need two blocks with a Y and you only have one?
You improvise!!

This is one of those poses I just wanted to try to see how it turns out and it wound up being my favorite shot of the whole session!

And finally, what's a maternity session without an ultrasound picture?

Gone To The Dogs!

Meet the Schumackers, a family of 4 with a grandma and two dogs!
When my wife told me she had booked this shoot I didn't know what to expect since I'd never had a shoot with any animals before, but we had a blast shooting with them!
Taylor, the youngest daughter wanted to play in the river some and I thought it would make a neat image so I ran to get a shot of her just as she was coming out of the river, I thought it turned out pretty cool!

Mom wanted to take a picture with her two daughters and her mother on the porch of an old house that was her grandmother's house.

Mom wanted to get a picture of her girls on the train tracks because her father was engineer for the railroad!

I've often wondered how other photographers got animals to sit still and look at the camera.....about 15 frames later I managed to capture the image above. Dogs don't seem to respond well to "look at the camera"....haha

Two sisters...Nicole just turned 18 and got a new car from her parents for her birthday while Taylor has about 10 more years before she will be driving!!

I LOVED this one, Taylor was ahead of us walking back to the park and I managed to capture this image of her.

Ok I thought I would post some pics from the last week or so, this is from Tulsa last weekend where my stepson and his band played a gig on Sunday night. They played about 7 or 8 original songs.

FUN FRIDAY-COURTNEY

For todays Fun Friday we go to the now defunct Fun Mountain with Courtney. Courtney was a real trooper as she (and I for that matter) battled heat, bugs, ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes and poison ivy as we explored the old amusement park.

We found some cool spots for photos like down on the go-kart track, the water slide, old lockers by the bathrooms and more!!

I thought the old red and rusted lockers made a great backdrop to go with Courtney's red hair and the color of her shirt!

Ok so the road graders weren't part of the park, but they were cool to have Courtney pose on!

Meet Noella, a really cute, very photogenic young girl who contacted me for some senior photos. She graduated high school this year but never got any senior photos done and she's shipping off to college in August so she wanted to get some taken before then.

Ok so this is one day late, but better let than never right? Fun Friday for this week is a picture from a recent shoot with a friend named Reagan. She got new hair and a new tattoo and wanted to do some pics to show them off. We originally had a shoot planned for today, but with temperatures forecast near 100 degrees and heat indexes around 105, we decided to wait for a little cooler day and we had actually already shot for a couple of hours after work one evening. Fun Fridays pic isn't of her new hair or her new tattoo but of her feet in a water puddle, just like you used to do as a little kid in the heat of summer, it turned out to be her favorite picture from the shoot. Anyway, keep watching for some more images of the shoot which will show her new hair and her new tattoo in a few days.

We tried to shoot Kendria's pictures a couple of weeks ago but weekend rain forced us to postpone the shoot.

Among the hundreds that turned out at Bomber Stadium last Friday night to watch graduation was my step daughter Hannah, who proudly watched her brother complete 13 years of school.
I was trying to snap a candid shot of her, but when I swung the camera around, she turned around as well and ruined the candid moment, but I think it turned out good anyways!!

This week I was going to post some images from a family shoot that was scheduled for last Sunday afternoon but then something that has been interfering with a lot of outside activities lately occurred again....RAIN!
So we had to postpone the shoot for another day.
